Driverless cars
There's an article in this morning's English Guardian about driverless cars in Milton Keynes. From 2015 twenty of the cars will transport people about on special pathways.
It's an example of how real life catches up with SF, eventually. One of my novels, Cheetah, is about a sentient car. Cheetah has an anti-grav drive that allows him to float above the ground. Maybe that should be our next invention. A working anti-grav system would allow us to do away with roads altogether. What a great way to return to the wild!
In my SF books I tend to explore worlds that combine the best of technology with the best of nature. It can be done, and we should do it.o
